About

Nadine Ethner, an artist and photographer based in Berlin, was born in Germany and studied at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, Germany and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy. After finishing her M.A. in Germany she spent seven years in Rome, where she held lectures and workshops about photography and collaborated with international artists on various interactive projects. Travel in Europe, India, Japan, North Africa and Turkey during the same period exerted a strong, lasting influence on her visual language. This diversity of experience resulted in numerous group and solo shows in various galleries, institutions and foundations. In 2007 she moved to Berlin, where she and other international artists and photographers co-founded the exhibition space exp12/exposure twelve in 2010. In 2016 she founded VTph Visual Thoughts – an online magazine and platform from which she presents international artistic positions in photography and discusses the following essential question: What do they do to us, these photographs that describe, narrate and interpret time and our world with such great complexity?

In 2021 she founded VTph editions – an online gallery and online shop with a fine selection of contemporary fine art photography. VTph editions presents the artwork of upcoming and renowned artists for a new generation of collectors, art lovers and the interested audience.

PENINSULA
PRESENTS
MAREMOTO

This group exhibition takes its cue from the symbolic power of the tidal wave to set in motion a poetic exploration of imagery.

Connection is at the heart of this seismic event. Members of Peninsula invite an artist to contribute an image, who in turn invites another artist to do the same, feeding a network of creative exchange. The result of this union of perspectives and styles will spill onto the gallery walls for one night only. It will be a place of imagination and reflection, letting a collective visual presence emerge.

Through and in the shifting energy of its name, MAREMOTO responds to the global zeitgeist that is challenging the very fabric of modern life. The aim is to bring together different voices and visions to reflect on the present moment in a kaleidoscopic way.
